HISTORY OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION, 1945 – 1992
STEP 2 THE HISTORIOGRAPHY OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION- ITS ORIGINS AND DEVELOPMENT.
According to the Italian historian Antonio Varsori the origins and the development of the historiography of European integration are characterized by three core features:
1. The key role played by some large-scale international research projects in initiating the greater research on the integration history;
2. The creation and activities of large European networks with a focus on teaching and research on integration history;
3.The initiatives and the support of EU institutions for such projects and networks.
