The most complex is the SWOT on microeconomic dimensions of the Union. However, it is not the most complicated – such is the analysis of risks, especially in relation to specific EU decision making process.

In many respects, the EU is losing its leading positions in international comparisons and many emerging markets offer long-term profitability prospects. At the same time the Union remains one of the leaders in per capita income and sophistication of demand.
