MANAGEMENT OF ARTS AND CULTURE

Step One: The externalities of cultural and arts activities

Many researchers, from multiple disciplines, have focused and are still focusing today on determining the impacts (economic, cultural, social, political, etc.) of culture, as well as the source of positive externalities (Heilbrun & Gray, 2001). While the authors try to measure the positive impacts, it is also conceivable that such activities are a source of negative externalities (noise nuisances for the neighbourhood, too much tourism for the inhabitants, etc.).
