Step 5: Summary
In this unit we have tackled the concept of migration and its link to identity, particularly in the European context. What is important is to first take stock of the statistics which relate to migratory flows, and discern the scale and scope of the phenomenon. Next, it is useful to understand historical legacies that have created push or pull factors for migratory flows, and see how contemporary mobility patterns shift and shape societal changes.
