Depending on the meaning given to the word “culture”, we therefore have different understandings of the field, of the cultural participants, of public actions in the cultural field, of the audiences, etc.

• • Are we talking about arts, literature and tradition?
    
  • Do we include leisure, expressions of minority cultures, craft techniques, applied arts, social activities, mass media...?
    

The scope of the cultural sector is shifting because it is rooted in society and dependent on the vision of people participating in society.
